The truth behind sustainability.

The best way to determine how sustainable a product is would be to calculate its carbon footprint. From the extraction of raw material to landing on your doorstep. A wooden surfboard made in California, from wood sourced in Brazil, delivered to a surfer in Australia is not eco-friendly. The best products would be manufactured locally, from local natural or recycled materials and built to last.

Extraction & Transport.

Where the raw material comes from and how far it needs to travel. What is the impact of extracting? Deforestation, mining, oil drilling? If it needs to be shipped around the globe it is not sustainable.

Manufacture.

Energy used to power the factory. Waste and pollution created by factory.

Durability.

How long will the product last until it needs to be replaced? Quality products that last a lifetime are truly sustainable.
